It seems like we waited forever for snow & then each storm came on a Sunday. We always find something to do to fill the time, including skiing, watching the aerials competition at Deer Valley, sledding, and even a weekend in CA for Tanner & mom. Never a dull moment, even in a meager snow year!
December
December is always filled with traditions, we like it that way. Porter had a big birthday and Christmas is on it's way. The plan for the school break is to hit the slopes and squeeze in a quick trip to CA to visit family. Merry Christmas to all!
November
Another swift moving month, with an even quicker trip to Missouri. We raked a lot of leaves and enjoyed the warmer weather.
October
Well after the flu of 2011 that ran through our house we are up for anything! Football season ended undefeated for Porter, Zane & Tanner had a blast with their flag football team, Ellie had her mom as her coach for soccer, Max lived for football, we biked the Golden Gate Bridge and we all missed Halloween!
It is a good thing that Ellie has the only birthday in January on both sides of our family, we couldn't fit in anyone else! We have tried to tell her that this is a once in a lifetime month for her with parties, trips, and celebrations galore! Unfortunately for us that argument doesn't hold up since it even leaks into February for her baptism. Will she ever believe that it will stop? And she isn't even an only child...but she is the only girl!
February & March
Skiing was the pasttime. We are grateful for our locale! Each storm was willed to bring snow & more snow. Then it was time to escape from the snow and Mark & Amy went on a cruise while the kids stayed home with grandma. (A plus for all of us!)
April
April was one of those months that breezes by. We tried escaping our cold weather and hit the beach for Spring Break and we weren't disappointed. The hard part was returning home to more snow & cold temps. I know, our snow loving family has even had enough of the white stuff (Sundance is closed, so what can you do?)!
May & June
School is out! We always end with a bang and then hit California before the crowds come, which typically means before good weather, but we lucked out! We had a fantastic 10 days there and then returned to Utah for the summer of the flag! Between Scout camps, tennis, EFY, and Youth Conference there has always been someone missing. And it's rare to hear, "I'm bored!"
July
4th of July festivities are best spent showing off for Foreigners. We love our Germans and feel lucky to have had 2 great weeks showing 2 great boys a great time! We had to send them to another family for their last week in the USA so that we could head to Missouri for our annual 10 day trip. And that sums up the entire month!
August & September
Summer months coming to an end with plenty of birthdays in our home. We certainly partied & threw in a Lake Powell trip, camping and even started school. I love the weather, especially when I can have bike riding boys & a scooter girl on their way to school. It never lasts long enough, cold weather will be here before you know it!
